ACTIONS YOU SHOULD NEVER TAKE BEHIND THE WHEEL

Driving is something people do so often that they frequently forget just how serious it is. For many people, it’s the single most dangerous thing they do every day. Not many other daily activities lead to such high levels of injury and even death.

As such, Esurance has been trying to raise awareness by releasing a list of things that drivers should never do on the road. It all starts with never using your cellphone. They actually recommend putting it in “Do Not Disturb” mode so that you don’t get calls or texts.

On top of that, they warn that playing video games while driving is highly dangerous. They even created a fake crash scene to highlight just how easily a wreck can happen when someone decides to drive and play mobile games.

They also warn against drinking hot beverages in the car. While a pumpkin spice latte may sound delicious on that long road trip, coffee is quite dangerous since spilling scalding liquid on your lap will likely cause you to lose control of your car.

Finally, drivers are warned not to look at their passengers when driving. It’s very natural to feel rude if you never make eye contact while carrying on a conversation. In the car, though, conversations should always take place with both eyes on the road. The passengers won’t mind, as this will make them much safer.

These may seem like small things, but they lead to thousands of accidents every year. If you’re a safe driver and you’re hit by someone who is ignoring this advice and driving dangerously, you may have a right to compensation. Lawmakers and courts in Pennsylvania are cracking down on distracted driving.
